One of the best things about living in California is the abundance and variety of fresh produce. When we had our own pear, apple, plum, and lemon trees and a fence lined with blackberries and raspberries I went a little nutty with preserves making. My pantry was full. Now that I'm back in the city (sans trees, vines, and pantry) I'm more interested in experimentation and small batches.
