Three Things Thursday: Mouse Melons, Dolgos and Avo Meets Choco

Once again it's Three Things Thursday, where I highlight three things that ran on the site recently that inspired, intrigued or impressed me.

Mouse Melon Cornichons
Mouse Melon Cornichons
Tiny, sour, unbearably cute mouse melons, also called Mexican sour gherkins, have been growing in popularity. Turns out they make the best crunchy quick pickles. Flavored with tarragon instead of dill, they make cornichons. From Culinaria Eugenius.

Spiced Whole Dolgo Crabapples

Rebecca at rcakewalk brings us these brightly spiced whole crabapples, almost like a bite of tart, pickled applesauce! Since first hearing about dolgos from Brook at Learn to Preserve, I'm obsessed.
Chocolate and Avocado Spread

I have to admit this one gave me pause at first, but avocado can be a good base for creamy spreads. This grown up chocolate and avocado spread from Larder Love has a chilli kick!
