This recipe is delicious and doesn’t last long at my house. We eat it on eggs, pasta, pizza, potatoes, and even grilled cheese sandwiches. It’s just as good, (if not better) than your typical basil pesto and the perfect solution to harvesting.....
This recipe is a tad intense to prep. But all the fuss is forgotten when the heat hits the pot — the perfume of the lemons and lovely pink hue that the onions bring to the picture dispel all memory of tedium. This is truly a gorgeous jam.
Using dried chiles (some from my garden), I made up a batch of homemade chile powder. Super easy. The aroma is amazing. And, it tastes so much better than that store-bought stuff. Great as a spice or a condiment.
Tender yet crisp carrot rounds that have been marinated in a tangy, earthy blend of vinegar, oregano, cumin, onions, and chiles de arbol. A few slices of jalapeño are added for extra heat, but unlike other escabeches, carrots play the leading role.
Tame the beast! Turducken, turkey stuffed with duck stuffed with chicken, let's face it, not something you want to make yourself. My alternative: Turducken sausages slow-smoked over mesquite. Get your grinders going folks! Neat video to go with.
