Last summer, we finally had a bumper crop of blackberries. I sent the boys out with Hubby-san to pick some berries for a pie, and they came back with FIVE baskets full of purple goodness. I made the pie, then made pie filling. Delicious!
Just "put up" this apple pie filling now (during apple season), and you will enjoy locally-grown apple pie in the middle of winter! A quart size jar will make one 8-9 inch pie OR a terrific gift at the holidays! What could be better than that??
